Bella's First Bath

Dear Diary,

We gave Bella her first bath, and it was adorable. She enjoyed it so much. She did not cry or anything and she fell fast asleep right after. That Johnsons Baby Bedtime Bath works like a charm.

Here she is all passed out!

New Family Member!

Dear Diary,

We have been so busy with the new baby I am just now able to give an update. Well, here it is:

Annabella Renee Wiley was born April 23, 2009 at 6:44pm. She weighed 6 pounds and 10 ounces and was 18 inches long. She looks so tiny and is so pretty (especially for a newborn). Everyone says she looks a lot like Sarah when she was a baby. Makes sense seeing how they are sisters! Daddy has got some strong genes!

Well, since we have taken her home we have enjoyed every single day with her so much. She is so amazing. She already tries to lift up her head, and she makes the funniest frowny face, which tends to follow a smile. Silly. I love her sooo much, and daddy and I just smother her with kisses!

Baby Shower

Dear Diary,

My mother threw such a wonderful baby shower for me. It was better than I ever expected. So many people came and I got the cutest clothes. I am really excited for Annabella to come. I am in my 9th month now!! Well... starting Monday. :)

The decorations were beautiful, the food was so yummy, my friends were able to make
it along with people I have known since I was a little girl. We played funny games like who could wrap the best diaper out of toilet paper, and bible/candy trivia. There was also a crossword puzzle, yet that seemed like a boring activity to me. I dunno... my friend Alisha seemed to enjoy it. Haha.

Sarah got so many presents, too. She had so much fun at the party playing and helping me open and present the presents to everyone. It was very adorable.

I am on maternity leave now, and man does it feel good.
My office manager was trying to stick it to me, but she does not realize how sly I am. They are going through a hard time getting all the bills paid, and Ms. Joan the Accountant is starting to feel the heat from the doctor on the financial situation of the office. She thought I was a simple minded, sensitive 21 year old who she could push around. It is my belief that she fully intended to "cut the cost" of keeping my position open and my benefits while I go on maternity leave. But I got her... as Nate would say, "PWNT!!" She was trying to get me to quit by harassing me about stupid stuff, and then the day before I went on maternity leave she tried to fire me, but decided she wanted me to come in on Monday, and she will decide then. Little did she know that I had been keeping detailed records of each event of harassment AND I had been in contact with employment lawyers. I sent over a letter from my Doctor putting me of Pregnancy Disability Leave right in time for me to NOT come in so she can "decided whether to fire me". AND if she tried to call me or if she fires me while I am on leave... Ohhh Boooy, that would be a huge mistake on her part, and in the end will put the office in a worse finical situation than before. Mrs. Heather Wiley does not get bullied. So, now Annabella and I are relaxing and getting a bunch of rest before her arrival. :D YAY!!

How Girls Play Catch

Dear Diary,

My baby boo Nathan is an avid baseball fan. He loves the sport, and he loves his girls! (He loves his girls more). So, on occasion Nate tries to combine the two loves. It was adorable bonding moment. Sarah had fun because she is full of energy and just loves playing in general, but while watching I couldn't help but notice she definitely played catch like a girl. Ha ha! The first video is an example of how every time Sarah plays catch she has to give a congratulatory hug for every catch made. This can get tiring after awhile especially after the 50th time. Thus, the video below, an exhausted Sarah determined to keep playing catch and keep giving hugs...

The second video I thought was a crack up as well. Mid race Sarah takes a little fall. The damage is minimal, but she is disturbed by the dirt that got all over her elbow. She also insists on fixing her hair, yet like a typical three year old declines a bath. Let's watch...

Simply adorable...

I Love My Husband

Dear Diary,

Pregnancy has sure had its ups and downs. I hear all these different stories, all these different symptoms, and I reflect upon how my pregnancy has gone so far. I have my complaints here and there, but you know what I have realized? I have had a pretty happy pregnancy, and this is mostly due to my dear sweet husband Nate.

I remember the day I told him I was pregnant. It was on his birthday August 28th. HAHA. I was terrified to spit it out, yet as soon as I did he said nothing but encouraging loving words. I instantly felt safe, and I instantly knew that everything would be okay because I had Nathan on my side.

From the day we really locked eyes he has done everything to show me that he is here for me always. When my mother was in the hospital he drove up and took me to buy some things to bring her. He stayed with me late into the night to cheer me up. When my carpool left me at a party he drove me 45 minutes back home. When I had Strep Throat he drove across town and up to my apartment to bring me soup. For no occasion at all he sends flowers to my work or brings them home to me. He remembers my favorite things and knows exactly what to do or what get me to put a smile on my face.

Since I have been pregnant, I have received the special, gentle treatment. A massage here, and trip to get my nails done there. Since I have been working he helps with dishes, cooking and laundry, as well as other chores. We truly are a team. He thanks me for carrying his baby, and when I get a craving for a fudge-sickle, he brings home four boxes.

Today, I had a pretty hormonal pregnant lady day. This past week I am starting to feel very 7 months pregnant, especially emotionally. The time of Annabella’s arrival is quickly approaching and I must admit I am getting a little nervous. My everyday responsibilities are becoming too much, and very sweetly my dear Nathan has stepped in to bear the load where I cannot. I feel blessed to have such a wonderful husband, and I am excited to continue the many chapters in our life together.

The Wiley Family

Dear Diary,

Life is travelling fast. It seems like just yesterday I was pleading with my mother, "Why does it take so long to grow up?!" I was in kindergarden, missing my two front teeth and all. Now I have a family of my own. In less than a years time I have moved to a different county, lost and gained friends, married the man I love, got pregnant and started a new job! It certainly has been a fun year, and with all these changes and things moving by so fast I want to be able to look back. I want to slow down and take a moment to remember the good times.

So, this is my purpose here. To share the wonderful memories. To share the good times.

There is a quote I love that relates to my purpose:
"But what minutes! Count them by sensation, and not by calendars, and each moment is a day."
~Benjamin Disraeli

Let's bring on the moments! The moments of the new life together including Nathan Bryan Wiley, Heather Christine Wiley, Sarah Lynn Wiley and Annabella Renee Wiley.
